Roofing Dumpster Rental in Charlotte County
Call and we will connect you with an independent local provider.
CALL NOW: (941) 740-6242Charlotte County has replaced a staggering number of roofs since Hurricane Ian in 2022, and Milton in 2024 added more. Call (941) 740-6242 to reach an independent local hauler with containers sized for roofing debris. We are a referral service, not the roofer or the hauler.
Roofing debris is heavy
- Asphalt shingles. Roughly 250 to 400 pounds per square (100 square feet), more with two layers or wet felt.
- Concrete and clay tile. Much heavier, often 900 pounds or more per square. Many haulers require tile in a small container and price it by weight.
- Metal. Light but bulky. Metal can often be recycled separately.
Sizing guide
| Roof | Typical container |
|---|---|
| Shingle, up to about 20 squares | 15 or 20 yard |
| Shingle, 20 to 35 squares | 20 or 30 yard |
| Tile, any size | 10 or 15 yard, sometimes several hauls |
| Metal | 20 or 30 yard |
These are rules of thumb. Your hauler will size the box from your squares, layers and material.
Tile roofs in Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte
Many homes in Punta Gorda Isles, Burnt Store and newer Port Charlotte neighborhoods have concrete tile roofs. Tile tear-offs generate enormous weight. Ask for the included tonnage and per-ton overage in writing, and expect more than one haul on larger homes.
Placement
- Set the container close to the eaves so the crew can drop debris straight in.
- Use boards under the rails; roofing loads are heavy enough to crack driveways and pavers.
- Keep it clear of power lines so the truck can load safely.
Licensing
In Florida, roofing work generally requires a licensed roofing contractor, and the Charlotte County building department issues re-roof permits. Most roofers include debris removal in their bid; ask before you rent separately. Older homes may have asbestos in old roofing or siding; test before tearing it off.
Questions to ask before you book
- What size do you recommend for my job?
- How many tons are included, and what is the charge per extra ton?
- How many days are included, and what does an extra day cost?
- Are there extra fees for mattresses, tires, appliances or heavy debris?
- When can you deliver, and how do I schedule pickup?
Get the answers in writing. The provider you reach at (941) 740-6242 will quote all of it before delivery.
